The audience and market of South Indian movies has increased on a rapid note in recent years. Now a days these movies are being appreciated by Hindi belt audience as well. All these movies gets dubbed into Hindi for either Satellite or Theatrical release but few of them also gets remade in Hindi. Some popular hit Hindi movies gets remade in South Indian languages as well.
In this article, we are going to talk about 4 big upcoming Bollywood movies which are official remakes of Blockbuster South Indian movies.
1. Temper (2015) in Hindi as Simmba (2018)
Temper has been remade in Hindi as Simmba. Directed by Rohit Shetty, Simmba stars Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan in the lead roles. Rohit Shetty has changed some parts of the story keeping Hindi audience in mind. Simmba will release on Dec 28th 2018.
2. Arjun Reddy (2017) as Kabir Singh (2019)
Arjun Reddy was a path-breaking movie in Telugu cinema. This cult classic movie features Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey in the lead roles. Made on a budget of 5 crore, Arjun Reddy grossed over 55 crores in it’s lifetime run making it one of the biggest blockbuster in terms of recovery.
Arjun Reddy is being remade in Hindi with Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani as Kabir Singh. Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who directed Arjun Reddy, is helming Kabir Singh as well which makes it even more interesting. Kabir Singh is scheduled to hit screens on June 21st 2019.
3. RX 100 (2018)
Just like Arjun Reddy, RX 100 is also a classic love story and it was also a huge blockbuster at the box-office. RX 100 is directed by Ajay Bhupathi and stars Kartikeya Gummakonda and Payal Rajput in the lead roles.
RX 100 is being remade in Hindi by director Milan Luthria. It will mark the Bollywood debut of Ahan Shetty, son of Suniel Shetty. The movie will release in May 2019.
4. Kirrak Party (2018)
Telugu actor Nikhil Siddharth’s campus comedy-drama movie Kirrak Party is one of the successful film of 2018. It was also a remake of 2016 Kannada movie Kirik Party which featured Rakshit Shetty and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles.
Kirrak Party will now be remade into Hindi with Kartik Aaryan and Jacqueline Fernandez. The movie will release in the second half of 2019.
